2006 Flossing Around the World Contest!

ASHLAND, Ore. – Dan Marut and team at Today’s Dentistry in Ashland are pleased to announce Roy Scarbrough and Tom Cox, both of Ashland, as the winners of the 2006 Flossing Around the World Contest.

Roy was the grand-prize winner for his entry, which showed him flossing his teeth in front of the Coliseum in Rome, Italy. For his winning entry, Roy received a $100 gift certificate to Beasy’s on the Creek in Ashland.

Tom was the runner-up winner for his photo, which showed him flossing in front of Janpath Street in New Delhi, India. Tom received a $75 gift certificate to Beasy’s on the Creek.

The Today’s Dentistry team kicked off the annual event last January as a way to promote the flossing and the important role it plays in an individual’s daily oral health care routine, regardless of where they may be. Flossing removes food and plaque between teeth that cannot be reached by a toothbrush. If plaque is allowed to remain between teeth, it can harden into tartar, which must be removed by a dental professional.

The contest was open to new and existing patients at the practice through December 31.

To enter, participants were asked to submit digital photos of them flossing during their travels. Winning entries were judged in two categories: the most unique/hardest/furthest location to reach and the most beautiful location.

The second annual Flossing Around the World Contest is already underway. Dr. Marut and team invite their patients as well as anyone looking for a new dental home to participate in this year’s contest.

For more information about the contest or to schedule an appointment, please call 541.482.7771. New patients are welcome! Today’s Dentistry is conveniently located at 1530 Siskiyou Blvd. in Ashland.
