If you didn’t receive a Rec Guide in the mail and you would like to receive a hardcopy of the next guide, complete our online request form at ashland.or.us/MailMyGuide or call us at 541.488.5340. We would also be happy to add you to an email notification list.  Watch for your Fall Guide in mid to late August… The guide will be ‘sporting’ a new name: “Community Playguide… What to Do!”

You still have time to REGISTER for the 41st Annual 4th of JULY RUN! Two runs are offered, a 2-mile family-fun run and a 10K that attracts local competitors as well as running talent from other regions in the U.S. The routes are scenic and on closed roadways. A section of the 10K route is along the tree-lined Bear Creek Greenway. Shotgun start at 7:45 a.m. for both races, which are chip-timed. All ages are welcome. The start/finish line is near the Ashland Library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd, corner of 3rd St and Gresham St. The cost for youth is $10 for either run. Adult prices, ages 13 and up, start at $25 (Register early to save $$$). The event is a fundraiser for the Ashland and Phoenix High School cross country teams. The Daniel Meyer Pool is OPEN for the season! More info at ashland.or.us/Swim. Mark your calendar for our seasonal celebration on Saturday, July 22, 2 to 8 p.m. … Island Night: An Aloha State of Mind. Hawaiian music and hula dance will fill the atmosphere. Help us celebrate our pool season … Hawaiian style! Admission is only $2 per person.

And, did you know we offer Adapted Programming that are specifically designed for people with developmental, intellectual or physical disabilities? The programs are designed to focus on each individual’s personal abilities and interests – More at ashland.or.us/Adapted.

The City of Ashland Parks & Recreation (APR) Department was established to provide recreational opportunities to improve the quality of life for area residents and visitors. Our goals are to strengthen the community fabric and sense of place for youth, adult, and visitor populations; to promote health and wellness; to foster human development; to increase cultural unity and to protect our valuable natural resources. APR meets these goals through preserving, maintaining, and enhancing our recreational facilities, parks, and open spaces while also coordinating engaging programs, classes, public events, and festivals.
