Seven Seeds Farm
Saturday, July 27
7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Join us for an all day adventure to Seven Seeds Farm, a thriving example of permaculture principles in action. We’ll begin boarding the bus at 7:30 AM for an 8:00 AM departure to enjoy a relaxing drive up the picturesque Applegate Valley to Williams. Seven Seeds Farm is on the north slope of Sugarloaf Mountain. Don Tipping has converted a dilapidated 1900-era homestead into a model permaculture site that has become a productive, diverse Biodynamic family farm.
See a multi-story forest garden with trees, shrubs, herbs and vines and how it can produce nuts, fruits, medicine, fodder, nectar, fertility, shade and habitat. Meet the turkeys, sheep, chickens and other animals who enjoy farm life here. Don is also the founder of Siskiyou Seeds, or as Don says, “The seeds have chosen me to nurture, select and disperse them to farmers and gardeners everywhere.” By the end of the day we’ll be wishing we had just a little more time with this gifted farmer and visionary.
Please bring your own water bottle and hat. Wear sturdy shoes for walking. Snacks and lunch are provided. There are 30 spaces on this tour. Registration begins July 10. Stop by the Co-op Information Desk or register online at www.ashlandfood.coop.
