Cuba Caravan Arrives July 9, 2010

You’re invited! On Friday July 9 the Pastors for Peace Cuba Caravan arrives in Ashland, as part of 13 routes touring 130 cities in the US and Canada, en route to Havana! This annual project is a challenge to the US government’s blockade and travel ban aimed at undermining the Cuban government. Caravan members extend the hand of friendship and solidarity to the Cuban people, as ambassadors for a “people-to-people” foreign policy based on mutual respect.

We’ll meet at the social hall of the Presbyterian Church, Siskiyou and Walker, Ashland:
6 pm—Greet Caravan members and socialize, with music by the Atlantis Jazz Quintet
6:30—Potluck Dinner
7:30—Program. Our featured speaker is Richard Becker, activist and frequent traveler to Cuba. He’s internationally known as an engaging writer and speaker. Mr. Becker will also be the guest from 9 to 10 am on the Jefferson Exchange radio program, 1230 AM the same day, Friday July 9.

All are welcome! Questions? call Mary Ann Jones, 541-482-8915.
Co-sponsors are Peace House and The Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF), Ashland branch.
