Dogs for the Deaf Presents 18th Annual Dog Walk

Now is the time to register for Dogs for the Deafâ€™s Annual Dog Walk 2009â€”presented by Batteries PLUS. Dog Walk is a fun event for the entire family. Register early so you can begin collecting your donations to WIN GREAT PRIZES! By participating in Dog Walk you help Dogs for the Deaf rescue dogs from shelters across the West Coast and train them to help people who have severe hearing loss or other special physical or emotional needs. Dogs for the Deaf is the oldest, largest and most respected Hearing Dog training facility in the U.S.
Dog Walk is Saturday May 30 at Hawthorne Park in Medford. Activities begin at 8:30 a.m. and include breakfast and lunch for participants, Demonstrations provided by Rogue Canine Agility, DFDâ€™s Hearing Dogs. Contests include prizes for the Best Canine & Owner Pioneer Costume contest, Best Paw 5 and Best Dog Trick. Join the Parade and stroll along the walkway between Hawthorne Park and Bear Creek Park. There will also be exciting raffle and silent auction prizes to bid on (trips, dinners, artwork, certificates and more). Great FUN for the entire family!
New this year is a KIDSâ€™ FUN ZONE with lots of fun activities for kids of all ages, including a Hoop Shoot Contest sponsored by the Jacksonville Lions Club.
Dog Walkâ€™s registration fee is $20 per person, $50 for a family (up to 5) or $75 per team/family of 4 and includes goodie bags for participants, event T-shirt, matching bandana, raffle tickets, continental breakfast, a hot dog lunch, contests and Umpqua Dairy ice cream bars. Those who raise the most donations for DFD will receive valuable prizes and will be entered into a drawing for a $250 gift certificate from Pet Country! There will be two drawings.
