Ashland Food Co-op

Gathering Together

June will have many opportunities for our community to gather together and celebrate the coming of summer. As you have probably experienced many times before, the Co-op seems to be a magnet for this type of activity. Whatever your reason, people just naturally gravitate to our outdoor plaza and deli to have lunch, see friends, or pick up an order of party food to-go. But this month there will be a bit of a snag, because our deli will be closed for almost 10 days during June. And because of the fluidity of the project, we cannot tell you the exact dates by publishing time. You’ll need to pay attention to signage on the doors or at the registers to find out when the construction will begin. It will be worth it. The new deli is going to be awesome. Check out the easel as you walk into the store to see the plans on paper.

Annual Meeting & Owner Picnic at ScienceWorks

Hopefully you have circled Sunday, June 22nd on your calendars because beginning at 5pm we’ll have fired up the BBQ to feed Co-op owners at this event. This is a new venue for our Annual Meeting and we hope it’ll be a lot of fun. $5 dinner tickets will go on sale at the Co-op Information Desk on Monday, June 9th. There is a limited number available so get yours early. If you don’t want to eat but you still want to attend, just bring your own picnic and partake in the festivities on your own. If you have really specific dietary needs, we encourage you to go this route. Once we’ve had our dinner and finished the Annual Meeting, you’ll get to play inside ScienceWorks until 8pm with no admission fee. More details are in your May/June newsletter. Check it out.

July Farm Tour Almost Full

There are still some seats left for our Farm Tour on Saturday, July 12. We’re very excited to partner with the Southern Oregon Land Conservancy and see some of the properties on which they have projects. We’ll stop at White Oak Farm, Red Lily Winery, and Eagle Mill Farm. It’ll be a long day and we encourage you to arrive at 7:30 AM in the Co-op parking lot so we can depart on time and get back on time. More information in the ad to your left and in the May/June newsletter. Hope to see you on the bus!

Ashland Food Coop

Ashland Food Co-op is a consumer cooperative that operates for the benefit of our owners. It’s simple to own your share of the Co-op. Just make a one-time, refundable equity investment of $100. You may pay in full or make an initial $10 payment! You'll be reminded at the register when another quarterly $10 payment is due until your $100 equity purchase is paid. In return, the Co-op pledges to operate for the long-term health of our community. Unlike most businesses that make decisions primarily to maximize profits, cooperatives make decisions to maximize service to their owners and the community. More on how to become an Owner
