Has It Really Been A Year Already?

Happy Anniversary Bella Terra! It’s hard to believe but this month we are celebrating Bella Terra’s one year anniversary in Ashland. And a great year it has been! The beginning of July last year found us busy printing price tags, putting the finishing touches on our displays and arranging jewelry in the show cases. We watched the Ashland 4th of July parade from inside the store, as we rushed to finish the final details in preparation for our grand opening on the 5th. One year later, we find ourselves loving life in Ashland, reflecting on our journey, and sharing excitement for our future here.

Since the first day we opened the doors at Bella Terra we have been fine-tuning our offerings. This has included adding the works of local jewelry designers and artisans. Recycled glass jewelry by Ashland’s own Jean Bakewell and whimsical pottery vases, boxes and bowls by Applegate artist Nancy Adams are some of our personal favorites and are very popular with locals and visitors alike. To expand and diversify our collection we have also looked beyond the local area and have recently added the nature inspired silver jewelry designs of California designer Zina and the sensual creations of Lika Behar who draws inspiration from the ancient jewelry traditions of her native Turkey.

Newer art/American craft additions from outside the Rogue Valley include fanciful embellished “steampunk” birds by Jim and Tori Mullan, color infused kiln-formed glass art by Washington artist Karen Ehart and amusing fish “decoys” by Pennsylvania artist David Miriello.

It has been an eventful and rewarding year and we are thankful for friends – new and old, jewelry designers, artists and especially customers who have supported us during this important first year. Taking a “leap of faith” pretty clearly sums up what we did when we relocated to Ashland and opened our little shop. We can say wholeheartedly the rewards have been worth the risk. Without a doubt, the most gratifying part of the last year has been developing relationships with customers, who we now consider friends, and being a partner in finding or designing the perfect piece of jewelry to symbolize affection, love, and commitment or to honor the memory of a loved one.

As the summer season kicks off and our town is of full of excitement and activity there is no better place to be than Downtown Ashland. Please stop by the next time you are downtown and help us celebrate the first of many years to come.

Bella Terra Fine Jewelry is open Tuesday – Saturday from 10:30AM – 6:00PM.
