Local Holiday Gift Guide

Ashland Food Co-op is serious about supporting local! We’d like you to consider choosing locally made gifts and supporting local businesses this holiday season. Here are a few of our favorites sure to make lovely gifts for anyone on your list, including yourself!

100 % Reloved Crayons from Annabel Lee, Ashland
These re-purposed puzzle piece shaped crayons are made from “down to the nub” old tired bits of crayons. They are recycled paraffin wax and non-toxic pigments. 10% of all Reloved Crayons profit goes to the Ashland Public School Art Programs.

Hinode Beeswax Candles, Gold Hill
Hinode Farm handcrafts beeswax candles in every size and shape imaginable. The candles are 100% beeswax from the Pacific Northwest. Tapers are hand dipped and the pillars are hand poured using cotton and cotton/paper wick. With its radiant light and fragrance of flowers, pure beeswax is the ideal wax for candles, needing nothing added to burn cleanly and beautifully.

Zorba’s Chocolates, Ashland
Raw, dark and divinely created by Todd Bjornson, these award winning chocolates come in bar or truffle gift boxes. The chocolate is organically and sustainably grown by a cooperative of small farms in Ecuador. Fermentation and finishing takes place at temperatures below 118 degrees to ensure enzyme, antioxidant and nutrient retention.

Xochi Chocolates, Ashland
On Valentine’s Day in 2013 two friends made their first batch of medicinal, gourmet chocolates. Today they are part of an artisan chocolate crafting group who has perfected three unique raw, Fair Trade-sourced chocolates. Besides medicinal mushrooms they contain classic, age-old remedies like maca, schisandra and ashwaganda.

Alissa Clark Clay Works, Ashland
Alissa creates fun, modern mugs with a whimsical twist! She hand-builds most of her work using slabs to construct the main vessels and hand-forms most other details. The end result is a great combination of pattern, texture and color.  All are microwave and dishwasher safe. Her designs are ever changing and old favorites like the heart pattern are always available.
