Medford Taekwondo Students Nearly Sweep Stanford University Taekwondo Invitational This Weekend and Bring Home “Best School” Honors


 

Medford, OR, May 26, 2009 — (atctaekwondo.com) — Ten Taekwondo students from ATC Taekwondo in Medford nearly swept their divisions this past weekend at the 2009 Stanford University Taekwondo Spring Open. The event drew hundreds of competitors from several states.

Out of a possible 19 gold medals, the Medford students brought home ten gold, three silver and three bronze. Alexa Lowe, 12, competed in the black belt division. Lowe won silver in forms. Sara Richardson, 16, won bronze in forms in the brown belt division. Gianna Isola, 12, won gold in both forms and sparring in the red belt division. Ian Grunwald, 10, won gold in the red belt forms division. Teighlor Traister, 10, won gold in purple belt sparring. Joshua Mondragon, 8, won gold in sparring and silver in forms in the blue belt division. Joshua’s brother, Saul Mondragon, 12, took home gold in the forms and bronze in sparring division. Aloha Kaeo-Wailehua, 9, took home the gold in both sparring and forms in the blue belt division. Alexander Prescott, 7, took home gold in sparring and bronze in forms in the green belt division. Also, in his first tournament outing, Jake Grace, 14, won gold in forms and silver in sparring in the yellow belt division.

 

 

 

The Medford students along with ATC students from San Jose & Morgan Hill, CA dominated the tournament and walked away with “Best School” honors.
