While chiropractors are certainly effective at helping free you of pain and getting you well, chiropractic care can also be about staying well.   I enjoy helping families – moms, dads, kids, and babies – grow strong and stay well so that they may focus on their lives.  The way we move, work, and play, all influence how we feel.  Sometimes simple chiropractic interventions or simple changes in your habits can produce big changes, keep you moving better today, and avoid chronic patterns in the future.

Ever carry a happy or unhappy baby for long periods of time?  As new or new again moms and dads know, those little bundles of joy can cause achy backs and necks!  I can provide relief and important strengthening exercises to help adapt your body to the needs of a growing, wriggling baby.

Evidence is continually growing demonstrating the benefits of chiropractic care with kids.  I enjoy finding and addressing patterns of restriction in the body as soon as possible BEFORE symptoms appear in life.

The earliest opportunity to have your child’s spine checked is as an infant.  The birth process is not only challenging for the mother but also for the baby – especially if medical interventions in delivery were necessary.  As a baby grows and learns to hold the head up, then sit, then crawl, then walk, there are significant changes underway in the structure and musculature in the body.  How many bumps does a child experience in this process?   If your kids are like mine – a lot!  Here’s another great opportunity to double check that development is progressing optimally.  Then there’s learning to use a swing, a slide, a play structure, and play sports – each one has important learning opportunities for the child but unfortunately they typically involve bumps and bruises.  Luckily, kids are quite resilient but I always recommend regular chiropractic checkups for kids to catch any issues before problems arise.

The doctors and staff at Southern Oregon Sports and Spine specialize in low force chiropractic, massage and rehabilitation.  Each of us has different special interests and training.  I have studied low force chiropractic techniques that are ideal in the care of moms, pregnant moms, kids and babies.  One is the Activator Technique which uses an instrument.  I am Webster Technique certified which is a method of improving neuro-biomechanical function and balance in the pelvis.   Babies and kids are especially fun to work with as they respond quickly to very light touch chiropractic techniques.

We were all born to be healthy.  Chiropractic care is a great way to stay healthy as we all grow through the bumps in life.
