Nancy Burton, Reclaiming Our Health

Dear Readers,

Once again I’d like to thank you for not only reading my articles, but sharing them with your family and friends. My purpose in writing them is to get as much information out to as many people as possible. I appreciate your help with this.

Thank you for your positive feedback, which is great incentive for me to continue with my mission.

My message is simple. With optimal nutrition and the intervention of a good Holistic health care practitioner when needed, chronic illness and disease is avoidable and in most cases reversible. With some nutritional knowledge, and knowing where to go to get help, people can drastically improve the quality of their lives.

With this knowledge we can turn around our nation’s health. We can go from being one of the unhealthiest to reclaiming our position as the healthiest nation in the world. With this knowledge we can curtail the growing agitation and violence in our society, and shed our global reputation of a vicious, dangerous country to visit. (See last month’s article.)

What it will take are enough people to understand how essential real, organic food is and enough people demanding affordable access to it. It will take people saying “no” to fake food laced with mental and physical health destroying chemicals that are void of nutrients. It will take more people demanding insurance companies pay for Acupuncturists and other state board certified Holistic Practitioners, with their basic insurance coverage. Because by effectively treating chronic health conditions, Holistic medicine has been shown to significantly reduce overall health care costs.

Our government hasn’t been able to make the difference in our nation’s health. While they quarrel about health and health care the situation is rapidly declining. Our government also hasn’t been able to reverse the growing trend of violence. And in fact, it has strong incentives to ignore the root cause of these major problems.

The Obama administration attempted to restrict the use of antibiotics in food. The meat, dairy, poultry, chemical and pharmaceutical industries thwarted all their attempts.

The corporations manufacturing fake food and the pharmaceutical and chemical companies producing the antibiotics, artificial female hormones, pesticides, herbicides, preservatives, addictive chemicals, including artificial sweeteners, and GMO crops that go into fake foods strenuously resist any threat to their obscenely profitable businesses. Politicians influenced (owned) by these mammoth corporations aren’t to be relied upon to remedy the situation. The only thing that will register to these powerful entities is when their toxic products no longer have a market because people stop buying them!

Another purpose of mine is to let people know where to go for help for their health issues. Acupuncturists are trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which has a different way of looking at the body. A weakness in one organ creates stress on others. Observing a patient and reviewing all of their symptoms creates a pattern that indicates the root cause of the health problem. Consequently, TCM treats problems that western medicine has no treatment for.

Western medicine is essential for acute, life threatening situations, and many, but not all, chronic conditions. TCM excels at treating chronic issues and accelerating the recovery of acute conditions after western medical intervention.

Some people feel they have to make a choice between western medicine and Holistic medicine. Actually, they work beautifully together. It’s often optimal for recovery to use both simultaneously. In other countries, where health care is actually about health, as opposed to profit, they use Holistic and western medicine hand in hand to get people well quickly, keep them healthy, and reduce over all health care costs.

When I work with patients after serious surgeries their doctors are inevitably amazed at their speedy recoveries. Lab tests are helpful to me because it gives more information about what we need to work on to improve people’s lab results by addressing the underlying problems causing the imbalances.

By incorporating TCM, with the addition of updated nutritional research, kinesiology, and nutritional supplements, I get to come to work and see amazing things every day. Giving people Holistic tools to heal their bodies produces many beneficial results, both immediate and for future health.

Great health is more of an option than people realize. Most health issues are avoidable. Most chronic health problems, anything from colds and flu to life threatening diseases are successfully treatable. People don’t need to suffer like they do. Knowledge is the most important tool, since knowledge enables people to make educated decisions about protecting and enhancing their health.

So Dear Reader, Thank you for helping me spread the word. I hope my articles are helping you to improve your health and your lives. And by passing on the information you are helping us all to take one more step in achieving a less aggressive, happier, healthier nation.

With Much Appreciation,

Nancy Burton, L.Ac. (Licensed Acupuncturist)
