Then Camelot goes to Chinon, France for the ‘original’ Game of Thrones: James Goldman’s The Lion in Winter! Starring
Livia Genise and Don Matthews and directed by Roy Von Rains, Jr. The Lion in Winter is a tale of unrequited passion and lust for power as realized in the Oscar-winning film starring Peter O’Toole and Katherine Hepburn. Talk about a dysfunctional family! King Henry II of England has three sons by Eleanor of Aquitaine: Richard, Geoffrey and John. Henry wants the kingdom to stay united after his death, but all three sons want to rule and so it is likely to be torn apart by revolutions. Henry favors the youngest, Eleanor favors the eldest, and the middle son hopes to play both ends against each other and come out on top. “A work of intelligence, astringent wit, and much theatrical skill.” ~ The New York Times
