Ashland Food Co-op’s Wellness staff has teamed up with MegaFood to offer a FREE community workshop where you’ll learn about lifestyle, nutrition and supplementation strategies to add to your daily habits right away. The workshop will address both seasonal mood changes and winter immune system stress.
During the shorter, darker winter days, it’s not uncommon to experience low energy, weight gain, carbohydrate cravings or difficulty waking up in the morning. While it’s perfectly natural to feel like you have a more inward focus during the winter months, these mood changes could have a negative effect on your quality of life. There are many healthy ways to feel more vital when shorter days just make you want to sleep. One is making sure that you engage with your friends and community in order to build the feeling of emotional wellbeing. Another is to nourish yourself with foods that support a healthy mood and keep our spirits high. Plus, there are specific supplements that can help not only your mood but also boost your immune system.
You’ll come away from this Winter Seasonal Therapeutics Workshop with a game plan for a better you through lifestyle, nutrition and supplementation. You’ll deepen your own knowledge about yourself as well. Our excellent Wellness Department staff will make sure you leave with a feeling of hope and rejuvenation that will last until the light comes back next spring.
