First I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of support that I have received since taking the helm here at Ashland Electric Bikes. It has been an exciting couple of weeks here at the shop. The only thing dampening our spirits has been the smoke. By the time you’re reading this article hopefully it’s blue skies again for all.
So, what’s new here at the shop? We still carry many of the same excellent brands of e-bikes that Ashland Electric Bikes is known for. We also recently extended the Magnum line-up by bringing back the new and improved Pathfinder, the Metro+, and the Scout. We are building off the work that Jerry did on the sustainability front by finding new ways to ensure that more of our “trash” – mostly unavoidable packaging – gets reused by others or recycled. With time we hope to be able to share some of our data around the projects we are working on here. Otherwise it’s the same great team looking to help you find the perfect ride for your needs or to make sure your current ride is tuned up for the season and humming along.
Outside of shop news I just wanted our readers to know that late last month, a new bill S.2420 was introduced in the senate. It is the companion bill to H.R.1019 that I mentioned in my interview with Shields last month. This is good news! Coupled with the passing of the bipartisan infrastructure bill that is putting billions towards the “Safe Streets For All” program. We are seeing the potential for funding to open up, to support both more financial access and safer streets for cycling.
You can advocate for these bills by calling your house and senate representatives. If you’re like me, and you’re from another state, but found your home here in the Rogue Valley. You can help by getting friends and family to support these bills, in states where environmental issues don’t receive as much press. To make it easy for them I got online, grabbed their representatives’ names, email addresses and phone numbers, to help make it super simple for them to support this initiative. You can also find a form letter on our website.
Again, thank you for your support during the transition. We look forward to providing the same excellent service to our existing customers and we can’t wait to get more e-bikes on the roads here in the Rogue Valley!
