Winter/Spring with Ashland Parks & Recreation

Our annual Ashland Community Bike Swap is fast approaching. Okay, it’s more than a month away (Sat, Apr 18), but there is something you can do now… Donate your unwanted bike or equipment! Did you know all donations are tax-deductible? From now until April 11 we are accepting donated bikes and bike equipment in good working condition. Drop yours off at Ashland Fire Station #1 at 455 Siskiyou Blvd or, for a pick-up, call 541.488.5340. Every donation means more bike safety classes for our community. Learn more at

The map is available from our home page,, or directly at The Story Map was created by Lea Richards, GIS Analyst for the City of Ashland. Did you know that the Butler-Perozzi Fountain came from the 1915 World’s Fair, or the Ashland Community Center was originally donated to the City by the Women’s Civic Club in the early 1900s? Take a moment to relax and enjoy this historical tour. Many thanks to the City of Ashland GIS Department, especially Lea Richards!

Ashland Parks And Recreation

The City of Ashland Parks & Recreation (APR) Department was established to provide recreational opportunities to improve the quality of life for area residents and visitors. Our goals are to strengthen the community fabric and sense of place for youth, adult, and visitor populations; to promote health and wellness; to foster human development; to increase cultural unity and to protect our valuable natural resources. APR meets these goals through preserving, maintaining, and enhancing our recreational facilities, parks, and open spaces while also coordinating engaging programs, classes, public events, and festivals.
