The 2014 Ashland Parks & Recreation Summer Guide is here! If you haven’t already seen yours in your mailbox it should be arriving any day now. Programs in the summer guide run May through the end of August. The guide also features information about Daniel Meyer Pool located in Hunter Park. The pool opens June 12. Be sure to mark your calendars for, “ISLAND NIGHT, an Aloha State of Mind,” on Saturday, July 19. Are you interested in birds? Do you sometimes listen to a particular bird singing and wish you could impress your friends and family by identifying the bird, or better yet, actually imitating the bird? If you are saying, “Yes,” then you must add Rogue Valley Bird Day to your calendar. This free annual event takes place at North Mountain Park each May. This year, event day is Saturday, May 10, from 8 a.m. to noon, and we have something for all ages… bird calling contests, junior bird walks, bird-banding station and more!
