Ashland Parks & Recreation Commission (APRC)

Siskiyou de Mayo… Is the artist in you ready for a challenge? If you answered yes, APRC has an opportunity for you! We are looking for an artist to design a logo for our new annual event: Siskiyou de Mayo, A World Music Festival.

The festival, scheduled for May 14, 2016, will take place in Lithia Park and celebrate multiculturalism with international music and dance! Our first annual line-up will feature: Salsa Brava with Jennifer Berry’s Rueda Dancers, Dawn KC: Middle Eastern Belly Dance, Tom Berich: Caribbean Steel Pan Band, Tony Stern’s Cuban Rumba Troupe, and more. The event will be MC’d by local storyteller and poet, T. Poe.    

If your artwork is selected you will win free passes to our seasonal pool and ice rink, free t-shirts featuring your design, and the pride of seeing your work in multiple mediums! Complete details here. Deadline to apply is Monday, February 1, 2016. The winning artist will be notified by February 15, 2016.

Ashland Rotary Centennial Ice Rink… It’s that time of year again… so lace up your skates and hit the ice! The Ashland Rotary Centennial Ice Rink will be open through February 2016.

The 2015-16 Season will feature something for everyone! The outdoor rink is located at 95 Winburn Way, across from the Lithia Park playground, around the corner from the Plaza, and at the corner of Nutley Street and Winburn Way. Bring the whole family! Our skate rentals accommodate toddler size-9 up to men’s size-15. Please come prepared to skate, as changing rooms are not available. Hot chocolate, coffee and a variety of snacks will be available for purchase. The rink offers skate trainers for select sessions… available at no charge.
