17th Annual Holiday Market at the Medford Armory

The Lithia Artisans Market is pleased to announce the 17th Annual Holiday Market at the Medford Armory, November 15-17. Over 60 artisans will fill the space at 1701 South Pacific Highway with handcrafted items and one of a kind gifts. Last minute gift shopping at its best!

“We always toyed with the idea of doing a show in Medford, expanding on our mission of creating viable art venues, more opportunity. In 2018 we moved this event from the Briscoe ArtWing in Ashland to the Medford Armory. 2019 was our biggest show ever as an organization. We are all excited to be coming back to Medford,” said event manager Marcus Scott.

This article will highlight a handful of the artisans you will find at this year’s Holiday Market. On the front cover of the magazine we have potter Rica Ronas. Rica creates very unique pieces. Her luminaries are perfect for the season. Her forms and textures are inspired by nature, the flow of water, mountain peaks, rhythms we can all relate to. Her art touches that sweet spot.

Next up is wool clothing creator Monika MacDougall. Her wool mittens, kids slippers, and scarves are impeccably made in her studio in Ashland. Wonderful pieces that fit any budget. Great stocking stuffer gift items.

“It is all about directly supporting local artists and crafts-folk,” says show manager Scott. “Everyone talks about the importance of shopping locally and buying products made in the USA. Well, it doesn’t get much more local than quality crafted right here in the Rogue Valley.”

The potter working at the wheel is Carmen Proffitt. Carmen is absolutely dedicated to her craft. She can often be found at our outdoor market working her craft. She promises to bring a great selection of pottery to the Holiday Market.

Landscape photographer Tim Hallam understands composition. Tim continues to impress with his diligence, patience, and technical understanding of his equipment and natural phenomena. He is known to be up all night to get that perfect shot of the milky way against Mt. Shasta. His display at Holiday Market is sure to be stunning.

Lastly we see the leather and silver work of Renato Guttierez. Renato is new to the market this season and he brings a fresh perspective to the category of jewelry. He also creates high quality leather bags and wallets.

This show is a last minute shopper’s dream, taking place the weekend before Christmas. Join us December 15-17 at the Medford Armory. The show is open Friday 10-7, Saturday 10-6, and Sunday 11-4. Live music accompanies the event and entry is free to the public.
