The Science of Gratitude
Gratitude, much like breathing, is one of the best self-help medicines. Research demonstrates many correlations between our ability to feel gratitude and the effect it has not only on our health and our mood, but also on the people around us. The electromagnetic field of the heart is 60 times stronger than that of the brain. The heart field affects the moods, attitudes and feelings of ourselves and others whether we are conscious of it or not. Gratitude is the most scientifically reliable way to bring your heart rate into a coherent rhythm indicative of a calm, relaxed state of mind – and to bring others right there with you. It is essential for adapting in a crazy world.
Drop into the heart by taking a few deep breaths. Put your hand to your heart to bring focus there and think of something that brings you joy, something you have gratitude for, something that makes your heart smile. Once the heart begins to soften, allow this gratitude and the energies of the heart to expand.
Recent Testimonial: “Each week it is THE most relaxing experience. I was skeptical going in, but I know Dr. Luke is very authentic and generous, so I wanted to give it a try. And what I found was a sensitivity and perspective that impressed me. Whether you are wanting to address physical or internal pain, there definitely seems to be something to this. Attending network care with Dr. Luke for months now has really been amazing. Each time I’ve left more centered and attuned to my energy. There’s no painful adjustments or invasive contact, just Dr. Luke’s gentle touches that seem to sense deep blockages or tensions. Honestly, I have no idea how he does it but for someone like me who has high anxiety, it’s an extremely effective calming tool too. It’s not like any chiropractor I’ve been to before. Highly recommended.” – Sean from Ashland
