Antonette Goroch Pacific Northwest Tour Update

Antonette Goroch (aka AntoneteG) will be touring the Pacific Northwest this November performing songs from her 2010 first full length solo recording, “Pretty Pictures”.
(Tour Dates below)

Antonette Goroch is recognized for her voice, melodies and lyrics, described as “a compelling blend of intelligence, innocence and insight, with a dash of intellectual insanity.” Goroch has been compared to indie folk artists, Neko Case, Penelope Houston and Mazzy Star and draws from this broad base of influences for a sound both pleasingly familiar yet at once all her own.

AntonetteG has delved into various musical styles including opera, musicals, rock, classical, country, folk and blues. She was the singer/bassist for the all-girl indie rock trio, The Amazon Mollies; singer/guitarist for the folk rock band, Liesl’s Wet Dress and singer/guitarist for the indie folk duet, The Hobbyists. Goroch says that Blondie and early riot-girl bands, like Bikini Kill are very important to her. “I found it very empowering to be in my late teens and early 20’s seeing girls who would just pick up instruments and play them without regard”

Her newest record, “Pretty Pictures” bridges her numerous musical influences moving you through a country infused ballad to songs that harken back to her girl group roots. The record is a culmination of the last 3 years of sometimes blissful, sometimes tumultuous recording work. Three of the songs are co-produced by Billy Talbot (Neil Young & Crazy Horse) and performed with The Hobbyists, two songs are co-produced with Elton Ridge at Rodent Records and performed by “The Golden Boys” and three of the songs are co-produced and performed with Nicolas Dobbratz (Of Montreal) and Jerome Steegmans (Sugar & Gold).

As Amy Lotsberg of Collected Sounds has stated, “Antonette Goroch’s vocals are very impressive.” The main focus of all of these solo/acoustic shows will be the lyrics and melodies, but as AntonetteG says, “I play a lot with what “frames” that core, based on where I’m playing and whom I’m playing to.” Sometimes you’ll catch a bit more of an Americana/folky side and sometimes you may hear Americana/rock and you may even catch a set that’s a bit more experimental with elements of performance art. No matter the style, this eclectic artist and dynamic performer will leave you wanting for more.
