Check out all we have going on in Lithia Park this summer… from guided Nature Walks, to free concerts in the park with the Ashland City Band on Thursday evenings. We also offer Lithia Park Trail Guides for a self-guided plant excursion through the Park. The guides are $5 for a hardcopy or free using our web app. More info at AshlandParksandRec.org.

And speaking of Lithia Park – This summer marks 100 years of Lithia Park! Join us, the Ashland Parks Foundation and the Ashland Chamber of Commerce as we celebrate 100 years of Lithia Park on Monday, July 4, 2016.

  • Run or walk in the morning at the 40th Annual 4th of July Run… Both 10K and 2-Mile runs start at 7:45 a.m., near the Ashland Library… Register today at AshlandParksandRec.org.
  • The annual parade starts at 10 a.m. and APRC is the Grand Marshal. The 2016 parade theme is “The 100th Anniversary of Lithia Park!”
  • After the parade, visit Lithia Park and check out our booth near the entrance. We will be seated next to the Ashland Parks Foundation, proud sponsors of John Enders’ coffee table-style book Lithia Park: The Heart and Soul of Ashland. Make a donation today at AshlandParksFoundation.com.  

The Daniel Meyer Pool is now OPEN! Mark your calendars for our seasonal celebration on Saturday, July 23, 5 to 8 p.m. … Island Night: An Aloha State of Mind. Hawaiian music and hula dance will fill the atmosphere. More info at AshlandParksandRec.org.

Volunteer Food Drivers & Servers are needed at the Ashland Senior Center… from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday, help us deliver warm and heart-healthy lunches for home-bound seniors or help serve the lunches at the Ashland Senior Center.  For more info, contact Lori Ainsworth, 541.552.2264 or lori.ainsworth@ashland.or.us.

The City of Ashland Parks & Recreation (APR) Department was established to provide recreational opportunities to improve the quality of life for area residents and visitors. Our goals are to strengthen the community fabric and sense of place for youth, adult, and visitor populations; to promote health and wellness; to foster human development; to increase cultural unity and to protect our valuable natural resources. APR meets these goals through preserving, maintaining, and enhancing our recreational facilities, parks, and open spaces while also coordinating engaging programs, classes, public events, and festivals.
