Brothers

Breakfast at Brothers’, what a great way to start the day! If the timing gods are with you, you can choose a table either curbside, upstairs or down; if not, you may have to wait a while as this is a very popular place with locals and visitors alike. The atmosphere is casual and clean and the service was fast, friendly, and accommodating.

The menu selection is quite good and consists of eggs and things, scrambles, lox and bagels, breakfast burritos, specialties like cheese blintzes with a delicious berry sauce and potato pancakes with applesauce and sour cream – YUM!!! Not to mention a fantastic omelet selection (I believe they were once again voted among the top place to get an omelet in Ashland for like the 10th year in a row!) My favorite is a spinach, grilled onion, bacon and mushroom with just a hint of mozzarella cheese that is not on the menu as is, but they are always very accommodating to my “when Harry met Sally” kind of requests – it seems I have a very difficult time ordering anything off a menu as is, I always have to modify it to suit my particular needs.

I suggest considering a two egg version, the 3 egg standard omelet is very large and packed with all the goodies you selected, cooked with TLC and presented beautifully. (How come my omelets never look so pretty? Mine usually end up looking like a train wreck!)  Egg dishes come with your choices of refried beans, toast, scone, hash browns or tomato slices. Combine these with your breakfast selection, and you have yourself one heck of a meal that could easily serve two. My husband enjoys the pancakes immensely; they are indeed very good – fluffy and melt in your mouth delicious. My son is partial to the awesome French toast made with an outstanding oat bread cut in thick slices, battered and cooked to perfection served with fresh strawberries and whipped cream; again…YUM!!!

I highly recommend a trip to Brothers’ for a good, hearty, well-made breakfast at a reasonable price, with very friendly service and always a welcoming smile.

Brothers’ is located at 95 North Main and prices range from $4 to $10. They are open from 7:00am to 2:00pm, 7 days a week and can be reached at (541) 482-9671.
