Exceeding Expectations for 27 Years!

Mountain Meadows sits on rolling hills just inside Ashland’s city limits near the end of North Mountain Avenue. Twenty-seven years ago, it was Madeline Hill’s dream to create an adult, “aging-in-place” community where those 55 or older could buy or rent, not have to pay a non-refundable buy-in fee, and then adjust their living situations within the same community as their aging and changing needs required.

Mountain Meadows was created with an infrastructure for community and safety – detached and attached houses, condominiums of various designs, the clubhouse and restaurant overlooking the valley, fitness/wellness facilities, meeting rooms. Houses were built wherever possible to eliminate steps from garage to inside. Other amenities would promote safety and community – smooth carpet-to-hardwood junctures, front door locks that reduce the chance of locking yourself out, natural lighting, dishwashers and wall plugs mounted higher. Outside walkways, creeks, even a community garden with raised beds for less bending and easy, safe access all add to the friendly atmosphere. We refer to this as “aging-in-community.”

Mountain Meadows is owned, operated and governed by the residents themselves. There is a homeowner’s association and condominium associations which work closely together to provide services such as maintaining lawns, scheduled cleaning of gutters and downspouts, scheduled exterior window washings, changing high reach light bulbs and smoke alarm batteries. There is a partial meal program which provides a $110 meal allowance per person each month. These services are included in the monthly dues paid by each unit owner. When needed, additional services could be ordered from outside vendors and providers and brought into the home, and these would be fee-based services coordinated as needed and paid for by the residents individually.

Mountain Meadows does not have buy-in fees! Home ownership and self-governance are the highlights of this beautiful 27-acre community. Your home becomes a part of your estate and can be left to your heirs or family for their futures. There is a true sense of community – sharing stories over meals in the dining room, participating in activities and interest groups, serving on a governing board or committee or enjoying a concert by local, talented musicians.

Mountain Meadows is far more than anyone ever dreamed it would be. It is filled with vibrant residents who have come from near and far – residents who embrace the beauty of Ashland and the community itself. People who have helped Mountain Meadows exceed expectations for over 27 years. Schedule a visit and see if Mountain Meadows can Exceed Your Expectations.
