A Sea of Red
There are certain times of year I like to encourage people to come to see the greenhouses; mid-April and mid-November. Mid-April is obvious because it’s the time of year when the greenhouses are at maximum capacity and everything is blooming. Mid-November is not a time of year most people think would be a great time to see the greenhouses, but it’s right when the poinsettias are coming into full color and we are just beginning to start shipping them out. The greenhouses are packed with a sea of reds, pinks, white, and even multi-colored poinsettias. Currently, the poinsettias have just a dash of color here and there. It’s fun to see how fast they change.
We’ll have our annual Poinsettia Festival on November 30th from 10 am-4 pm, which is also a great time to come and see the color. However if you want to catch a glimpse of them before the crowds I recommend coming the week of November 11th, even if it’s just to look and take pictures. This year’s poinsettia festival will be like year’s past with multiple vendors, photo area, free holiday raffle, music, hot beverages, and sweet treats. New for this year we even have a visit from Santa Claus himself from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. For more information visit our website at www.ashlandgreenhouses.com and click on the “Events” tab.
