Everything Great about Primroses
Happy February!
We want to highlight primroses this month as an excellent addition to your gardens. Primroses are early bloomers, love this cool weather, and add a joyful pop of color. These beautiful flowers are also very easy to care for. Make sure the soil is well-draining, and keep it moist, but not boggy. They do well in containers, as well as planted directly in the ground, and prefer part sun/part shade. We have different color mixes to choose from, so you can mix and match to make the perfect combo for your garden!
Primroses are great for attracting pollinators to your garden. Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds will stop by to check out these fragrant, bright flowers. They usually produce blooms throughout spring, until it starts to get too warm outside. Another great perk about primroses.. deer aren’t widely known to enjoy eating them!
If you aren’t quite ready to get out into your yard and gardens quite yet, come by to check out our beautiful succulents. Succulents do great indoors, so long as they are in a space with plenty of natural light. We have several varieties this year, there are all sorts of different textures, colors, and sizes. Making your own succulent bowl would be a fun project that you could keep inside for some extra joy! Make sure not to over-water your new succulents, they like their soil to dry out in between waterings.
I also want to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you all. My name is Sarah, and I am the new retail manager here at Ashland Greenhouses. I am very excited to be here and to make sure your experiences at Ashland Greenhouses are great. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call us, stop in, or send me an email to grow@ashlandgreenhouses.com. When I’m not at the greenhouses, I’m usually hanging out with my partner and our two cats, making art, or trying new recipes for delicious snacks! I can’t wait to see all of your (masked) faces this spring!
