Cannabis: Too Much of a Good Thing?

In a previous article, we talked about the term Cannabinoid Toxicity Syndrome. This term was coined by a colleague, Dr. Brent Davis of Heaven Sent Hemp. Dr Davis noticed that some patients exhibited musculoskeletal “collapse” with sudden pain. Practitioners of allopathic medicine were unable to determine the cause. Through applied kinesiological muscle testing, Dr. Davis was able to determine that THC had built up to unsafe levels and caused the debilitating pain syndrome.

With easy availability, many people are using cannabis daily or multiple times daily. What many people do not realize is that it takes time for THC (the psychoactive chemical in cannabis) to be eliminated from the body and brain. For example, when using marijuana 2-4 times a week, it can take 25-35 days to be eliminated from your system. Using 5-6 times a week it takes 33-48 days. It takes longer if the marijuana has higher potency (dabs for example). This is especially worrying for young people, as it is unknown how sustained use effects the developing brain. If used continuously, it never eliminates fully, and can build up to unsafe levels. This may be especially dangerous if you have a leaky blood-brain barrier from head injury or concussion.

Evidence shows that tissue buildup of THC can cause psychosis, paranoia, seizures, musculoskeletal pain, or unexplained weakness. As we have mentioned before in LocalsGuide, marijuana is now much stronger that it was in prior decades, and thereby more addictive and potentially more damaging. There is also dangerous fungus and chemicals associated with cultivation. If you are experiencing unexplained, uncontrolled rage/paranoia, have developed a seizure disorder after cannabis use, or have other unexplained symptoms, you may want to consider completely eliminating/detoxing from cannabis. We do not provide these services, but the technology we use may help people to regain optimal brain function once they have detoxed from substances.
