In Memory of Graham Lewis “Keeping Ashland In Focus”

“Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our long-time staff person and dear friend, Graham Lewis, who passed away suddenly December 8, 2021 from a cardiac event. Ever since Graham and Bunny moved to Ashland in 1991, he was actively involved in every aspect of the Chamber as a volunteer. He served in leadership roles as chair of numerous committees and as President of the Board of Directors from 2005-07.  Graham was hired as the Volunteer Coordinator and staff photographer in 2008 and through his time on staff showed his natural kindness and care to everyone he came in contact with whether business owner, volunteer, citizen or visitor. Many know Graham through his photography having taken many thousands of photos of scenes around Ashland, businesses and certainly all of our community events. Always inquisitive and interested in everyone he met, he made friends easily and touched countless lives in the three decades of his time here. Graham was recognized as Honorary Life Member in 2009 for his incredible dedication to the Ashland Chamber. He was a leader in numerous organizations outside the Chamber including being a founding member and Past President of the Rotary Club of Ashland Lithia Springs. Graham’s humor and wit was memorable and such fun to experience and his background in mental health counseling served our community well. His positive attitude and faith was always inspiring. Graham loved food! He enjoyed cooking, sharing recipes and eating out all over Ashland. To say he will be missed is an understatement, as he is leaving a huge hole the size of the Mississippi River from where he was born and raised, that cannot be replaced. Graham “Keeping Ashland in Focus” was his tagline and he did that so very well. Our deepest condolences go out to Bunny and his family.” – Sandra Slattery
