Regular Maintenance and Oil Changes

People often ask me if there an advantage to having our shop perform their oil changes. The answer is “Absolutely!” Having your oil changed by your regular mechanic is one of the best things you can do for your car, and your peace of mind! Quick lube establishments are wonderful for providing fast and convenient oil changes, but it’s important to note these establishments don’t usually employ ASE master-certified technicians. Having your regular shop perform your oil changes means you’ll have a trained set of eyes on and under your car. These trained eyes will often catch a problem early, before it develops into something more serious or costly. Having a regular discussion with your service advisor is also beneficial, as he/she can offer insight as to which services are coming up, and how much they will cost. We find it most difficult to provide good service to customers and their cars when we only see their vehicles once a year, or less. Conversely, customers who have their scheduled maintenances performed on time (30k, 60k, 90k etc.) experience more reliability with their vehicles. Just because the vehicle seems to be running fine doesn’t mean it isn’t in need of maintenance. Catching problems early is the best way to save time and money!
