Anna Podhaski at Bloomsbury Books
Anna Podhaski, a local author and artist in Ashland, will be reading excerpts from her new novel White Jade, at Bloomsbury Books in Ashland on Friday, March 25th at 7pm. Anna has written articles for various Southern Oregon publications; White Jade is her first novel. Always fascinated with myth, history, and what motivates human behavior, Anna received a Bachelors Degree in Applied Psychology. It was from her father and grandfather, both short story writers, that she inherited her love for crafting a good yarn. Born in San Francisco and raised in the Bay Area, one of Anna’s favorite places was the Cliffhouse in San Francisco. Consequently, it is no wonder that the Victorian version of this structure is pictured on the front cover of her book and became a pivotal setting in the novel. The storyline of White Jade was inspired by an old family tie to Nob Hill and Chinatown. The novel weaves a mysterious generational tale of legend, luck, love and betrayal as cultures collide, deceptions unravel, and the quest for a mysterious “big luck” grabs hold of them all. At this book signing event, the author is offering a special introductory price for the first twenty books purchased and there will also be a drawing for a keepsake from the story.Websites for the novel are presently under construction: whitejadenovel.com and whitejadetrailer.com
