My name is Sarah and I am the artist behind “Pumpernickel Studio” (WS241). I have always enjoyed creating, and I love finding inspiration in my environment. Some of my art is inspired by the southwest, as I spent most of my life in and around Phoenix, Arizona. While living in Phoenix, I loved connecting with people through art. I participated in tabling at First Fridays nearly every month, and I loved seeing regulars, newcomers, and other vendors. The first item I ever made for sale at First Fridays was a make-your-own-adventure style cat themed coloring book! I even made commissioned custom cat doodles for a while.
Ashland is a breath of fresh air for me right now, even amidst a pandemic, strangely enough. I’ve had to change my career path for the time being, so I’m learning new things every day, and getting inspired to create more. I am also excited to just try and make different things!
If you stop by my wall space, you might find a few cat-themed items, lots of pin-back buttons, handmade notebooks, original drawings/paintings, and enamel pins. I recently added some of my partner’s artwork to the space (we also shared a First Friday table for four years). We have very different styles, and I am very excited from some upcoming projects!
