Ashland Artisans Emporium: NewmanImages Photography
Hello there! We are Jay and Sue Newman, the proud proprietors of Booth #156 at the Ashland Artisan Emporium. We’re honored to be Emporium originals! We remember that fateful day: We were at the shopping center picking up turtle food when we noticed some activity in the old DJ’s building. We walked in and met the always smiling owner, Michelle Christian, and decided then and there to procure a spot before it filled up.
Weekend Wanderers: Whenever we have time off and the light is good, we head out on one of our mini-grand adventures. Sometimes we have an exact destination in mind, but usually we just ramble around, going where the sky looks the most interesting. Whatever adventure we end up on, we always hope to come home with a few images that will connect with viewers as much as they did for us when we took them.
The Mighty Booth: We take pride in having the most colorful walls in the Emporium. You’ll find a wide assortment of local and regional fine art photography—including matted and framed prints, gallery wraps, greeting cards, and for a limited time, our “Ashland, Oregon 2014 Wall Calendar.” (Also available on Lulu.com.) To find the NewmanImages booth in the Emporium, walk in, take a right, go to the second to the last row; we’re the first booth on the right. You can’t miss us!
Annual Holiday Sale: Look for big discounts in the booth through the end of January. We’ll be adding several new images on foam-core, which are a lot more affordable than framed prints. So if you’ve already seen the booth and wished we had less expensive large prints come on by and see the new inventory.
In the Hopper: Lots of things happening with NewmanImages! We’ve completed a year’s worth of monthly “Weekend Wandering” columns for the LocalsGuide (check out “The Bigfoot Trap” in this issue). We also set up a new online store on SmugMug.com. And we’re thrilled to have so many of our images included in the new Ashland, Oregon coffee table book by Barbara Tricarico. We’ll be participating in the gallery show of images from the book on First Friday, December 5th, at the Hannon Library at SOU. Our images will be on display there through January.
We hope you have a wonderful holiday season full of good cheer and gorgeous sunsets!
