Casey Frieder, DC – Skin Care, Chiropractic & More
Hello good people of Ashland, my name is Dr. Casey Frieder and I am a chiropractic physician. My approach to healing is based on deeply supporting all levels of being–including emotional, mental and spiritual–and not solely the physical. I worked in Ashland from 2012 to 2018, and then moved my practice to Medford, where I deepened my knowledge and sharpened my skills while serving as a primary care physician at Siskiyou Vital Medicine. During this time, I enjoyed expanding both my scope of practice and my patient base throughout the Rogue Valley. As of February 2024 however, I’m back in Ashland and excited to offer a few unique services, which I feel are much needed in our community.
The service that I’d like to tell you about today is Non-Surgical Skin Lesion Removal. This is a gentle treatment that is highly effective for removing most types of common skin growths (“lesions”); such as moles, skin tags, keratoses, hemangiomas, xanthomas, warts and more. It involves the topical application of a specially formulated acetic solution, which constricts the blood supply of the skin lesions, thereby destroying the irregular skin cells, which form into a scab. The scab heals just like they normally do, and falls off in a few weeks, leaving normal, healthy skin; or in cases of larger/deeper skin growths, it reveals the deeper layers of the lesion, which can then be treated again, until the entire growth has disappeared. I’ve been offering this service here in the Rogue Valley for a decade now, and I’m continually in awe of how wonderful and consistent the results are. Removing unsightly skin lesions generally increases self-confidence and well-being; and since the skin is a sensory organ of the nervous system, removing irregularities from its surface can improve sensory input and decrease irritation.
If this sounds like a treatment that would benefit you, I always offer free consultations, during which we can discuss your situation and concerns, and I can advise you on whether or not it’s appropriate for you. *It’s important to note that this treatment is not a standard dermatological procedure, and not a substitute for routine check-ups with your dermatologist in order to screen for skin cancer.
That’s all for now folks! I look forward to meeting new patients while reacquainting with those who’ve seen me before.
