On April 26th, the Tony-Winning Musical Once Opens at the Oregon Cabaret Theatre.
The Cast
Livia Genise, the longtime artistic director of the Camelot Theatre, joins a cast that includes Christopher Fordinal (Elvis in Million Dollar Quartet), John Lambie (Pine Mountain Lodge, She Loves Me, Cabaret), Haley Forsyth (She Loves Me) and a host of Cabaret newcomers – including Olivia Nice, who makes her debut as the female lead in Once.
The Show
This beautiful tribute to love set in present day Ireland nearly swept the Tony Awards in 2012, winning Best Musical and seven other awards. It is a truly original theatrical experience featuring a full ensemble of twelve that all play their own instruments onstage. Once tells the enchanting tale of a Dublin street musician who’s about to give up on his dream when a beautiful young woman takes a sudden interest in his haunting love songs.
The Music
Once: the Musical features music and lyrics by the actors who starred in the film, Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová – unforgettable tunes like “Falling Slowly,” “If You Want Me,” and “When Your Mind’s Made Up.”
