In this interview, we’ll explore what makes the UltraClear laser so unique and how it can help you achieve your skincare goals.

Hi Jen, congratulations on all your hard work and accomplishments across the past several years and welcome back to LocalsGuide.

Hi Shields, it’s great to see you and to be back with the LocalsGuide. I always look forward to each issue getting delivered every month and seeing what all is going on in our amazing community.

What have been some specific milestones and accomplishments you have celebrated recently?

Well Shields, we are very proud to still be holding our Diamond ranking with the manufacturer of Botox and Juvederm fillers which means that we do more Botox and filler here in little Ashland than 99% of all other Med Spas in the country. When starting out I never dreamed we would be a top 1% ranking Med Spa in the country. That is just something that still amazes me. But we can’t just rest in our laurels, you know what I mean? So we are always looking for ways to deliver more and better results for our patients. Part of staying a leading top-ranking Med Spa is staying ahead of the curve with the latest and most innovative anti-aging technology like our new UltraClear laser.

Tell us about the new UltraClear laser. What makes it different and how are you using it to help your clients?

The UltraClear laser is a game changer in anti-aging. It’s the newest thing for skin tightening, reducing wrinkles, fine lines, and addressing pigmentation issues like sun damage. It’s an all around fabulous device that uses new technology to create a colder laser that traditional skin treatment lasers.

You’ve mentioned that the UltraClear laser operates at a cooler temperature. Can you explain how this feature makes it safer for all skin tones and types?

Absolutely. This really is the biggest thing to come out in Laser Technology in quite a while. Being able to have the laser operate at a lower temperature allows the laser to treat the entire range of skin tones as well as operate in the summer. Obviously darker tones absorb more heat from light and with the previous hotter lasers what would happen is too much heat would be absorbed and it could cause a serious risk of damage or hyperpigmentation. It’s kind of a similar risk in high sun months like the summertime that the sun causes darker skin tones and then when you pair that with the skin then absorbing heat from the laser, you again run the risks of hyperpigmentation and extra damage. But now that there is a new laser that’s able to operate at colder temperatures that mitigates the risk to such a great degree that the laser is safe for all skin types and all year long, it’s truly marvelous.

What specific skin issues can the UltraClear laser address?

The Ultraclear laser is really able to treat a very wide variety of skin issues due to the fact that it has numerous different settings for not only power output but also how deep the laser goes into the skin and the pattern that the laser makes on the skin. It can of course treat the things that you would expect like wrinkles, fine lines, loose or saggy skin and things like sun damage. But on the higher settings with things like laser coring the Ultraclear can provide essentially a non-surgical face lift taking many years off of the appearance of a patient’s face.

Jen, what kind of results can patients expect?

Patients can expect to see some pretty dramatic results from this device. As you can see from some of the pictures we’ve provided you for this interview spot, some of the results are just staggering. Though of course a lot of that also depends on which settings a patient decides to move forward with. Clearly if you do a lower setting geared more towards just some fine lines or maybe smaller wrinkles, you’re not going to get the same type of results if you were going to do something like a laser coring procedure that’s going to give you that non-surgical facelift type result.

How does your holistic approach to anti-aging set Illume Aesthetics apart from other med spas?

At Illume the approach we use which I ultimately ended up terming the “Illume method” is pretty different from what you would experience at a lot of other med spas. We take a three-pronged approach to anti-aging to make sure that we’re covering all of the bases in terms of what causes an aged or aging appearance, so that we can combat that aging and provide a more youthful look often taking 10 to 15 years off of our patient’s appearance. Most other med spas will simply get you in for a one and done single treatment or maybe even a package of a single treatment and leave it at that. It’s very transactional and doesn’t necessarily focus on the whole patient and the long-term outcome.

Illume Aesthetics has a proprietary treatment plan that you follow to get amazing results. Can you please share more about the three pillars of this treatment plan?

Of course, the three pillars of our “Illume Method” are structural rejuvenation, and dermal renewal, supported by topical nutrition and protection.

Let me elaborate. Structural rejuvenation which we use primarily injectables for, is all about restoring the structure and shape of the face back to that more youthful appearance. Because as we age the very shape of the face changes, there’s volume loss in both the fat pads and at a certain point in the bones themselves of the face and what we do with the structural rejuvenation portion of our Illume method is restore and rejuvenate that structure back to that more youthful shape and state.

With dermal renewal we use primarily energy-based devices, think lasers like the Ultraclear that we’ve been talking about in order to renew that skin or dermis to a more youthful state. Because as we age, the skin will have accumulated damage from the environment and from the sun, which will often show up in pigmentation issues like sun damage. And then of course, there are also issues with laxity of the skin as we age. It loses its elasticity and its ability to stay tight which of course results in things like wrinkles, fine lines, sagging, etc… And we are able to treat all of that.

Then we have topical nutrition and protection, which is arguably the most important facet of the Illume method. Because once we’ve rejuvenated the structure of the face and renewed the skin, if we don’t provide nutrition and protection for those results, those results are going to fade away very quickly. This is going to be done with things like medical grade skin care products and medical esthetician services like medical grade facials.

Which is going to provide nutrition to the skin to be the best that it can be and to support the changes that have happened to it as well as protection from environmental factors like air pollution and both outdoor and indoor light exposure.

When we combine all three of these modalities, we are doing the Illume Method and those who do the Illume Method experience phenomenal results.

What is the biggest difference between the Illume Aesthetics treatment and other single-treatment-focused approaches offered at other places?

Well Shields, the problem with single treatment focused approaches is that they’re only going to treat one symptom of aging and not address the overall problem in any kind of a comprehensive way. Which means that that one symptom may get some relief for a little while but it will likely become a recurrent problem, and other signs of aging will also start to show up more prominently because the entire aging problem isn’t being addressed.

Jen, can you please talk more about how you are educating your patients on addressing aging holistically rather than through isolated procedures?

Of course. We always do a comprehensive consultation with our patients to get to the root of the Aesthetics issues that they are trying to solve or the Aesthetics results that they are wanting to achieve. During these comprehensive consultations we like to explain how the Illume method works and how aging works and why it’s so important to approach the issue in a holistic way using multiple modalities instead of just one and done treatments.

Illume Aesthetics is in the top one percent of med spas nationwide. What has contributed to your success, and how do you maintain such a high level of service?

I wish there was a super glamorous answer. But we put in a whole lot of work and effort into making sure that our patients get the best possible results in care that anyone can get. We also put a whole lot of work and effort into training all of our staff to make sure that every member of Team Illume is an absolute expert in the Aesthetics world. I really feel like the primary reason that we are where we are is because of our relentless work ethic in regards to getting our patients the best possible results.

Your main client demographic is women aged 30 to 50. What are the most common concerns they come to you with, and how does the UltraClear laser help them achieve their aesthetic goals?

I would say the most common concerns that women start coming to us for are wrinkles and fine lines and sun damage. We know once you start getting over 30 you just start to notice wrinkles that didn’t used to be there and you also start to notice that some of the pigmentation on your skin may be changed a little bit, especially here in southern Oregon where everyone likes to live a very outdoors lifestyle. Lucky for us, the Ultraclear is an absolutely amazing device for treating all of these issues.

Please share some recent success stories with us.

Well obviously because of medical privacy I can’t name any names or share any super personal stories. We’re a very discreet med spa. But just look at some of these before and afters that some patients have allowed us to use. These results are absolutely amazing; you can see how some of the wrinkles are just gone and how their skin looks so much better and they just look younger. I can tell you Shields that these patients and many many more have been just super thrilled with the results that they have gotten.

For potential new patients who are considering booking a procedure, what are the next steps?

For anyone looking to become a patient and that’s wanting to take some years off of their appearance, all they need to do is call or email our office to set up their first consultation. Once they’ve done that, we can take care of the rest and get them on their journey to getting the aesthetic results that they are looking for.

Jen, do you have any special offers or incentives for new patients who want to book UltraClear laser treatments before the end of the year?

Actually I do Shields and something special just for your readers here at the LocalsGuide! For any LocalsGuide readers that bring in this issue before the end of the year we will give them a 20% discount on any Ultraclear laser service. So not only can they get these amazing results they can also get a fabulous discount on looking their best all because they heard about it here on the LocalsGuide.
