What’s Black & White with Her Money On Red?
For 28 years (since 1986) Oregon Cabaret Theatre has been Ashland’s Other Professional Theatre, presenting top quality musical theatre productions in the elegant setting of the beautifully restored and renovated former First Baptist Church at First Street & Hargadine.
For Ashland visitors the Cabaret is a unique on-the-town experience which is a great complement to Rogue Valley outdoor activities or the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Many locals consider the Cabaret “our theatre” – a place to come with family, friends or guests to enjoy a relaxed evening or afternoon of professional entertainment, delicious food and beverages while sitting together at a table on tiered levels under an elegant crystal chandelier from an old movie palace and waving across the room to other local neighbors.
We’re happy to be joining the Locals Guide this month and it’s appropriate that four out of five actresses in our current production NUNSENSATIONS: The Nunsense Vegas Revue are talented local musical theatre performers: Suzanne Seiber, Laura Derocher, Ellie Holt-Murray and Kymberli Colbourne. The Cabaret draws from our great local talent pool as well as bringing in professional actors, directors & designers from all over the country to bring you the best performers and finest production values.
We consider ourselves a theatre-restaurant offering superb entertainment as well as fresh and delicious dining options. Patrons can enjoy full gourmet meals or just small plates and wine before the show and dessert at intermission – your choice. Here are some yummy options on Chef Scott’s current menu:
- Smoked Mussels & Salmon Antipasto
- Crab Cakes with Dill Remoulade
- Watermelon, Tomato & Goat Cheese Salad
- Chicken Picatta with Lemon & Caper Sauce
- Pork Tenderloin with Fresh Cherry Salsa
- New York Steak with Smoked Cheddar Mashed Potatoes
- French Toast with Peach Compote & Crispy Bacon (brunch)
- Lemon-Blueberry Cheesecake
- Chocolate Cream Pie
- and our signature dessert Dick Hay Pie(ice cream, peanut butter and chocolate).
As an extra added kick-in-the-pants for NUNSENSATIONS we’re playing Bingo with the nuns before the show. Be sure to come 45 minutes before show time to try your luck at winning some nifty prizes.
