Posh Organics Commitment to Organic Skincare
Posh Organics, a mother-daughter-owned boutique and spa in Ashland, Oregon, has been a cornerstone of holistic beauty for the past decade. Known for their dedication to organic skincare and personalized client experiences, they’ve recently expanded their offerings to include advanced medical aesthetic treatments. With a growing team of certified practitioners and an unwavering commitment to purity and potency in their products, Posh Organics continues to set the standard for natural beauty and wellness in the region. In today’s interview I speak with co-owner Alicia Croft to learn more about what’s new at Posh Organics.
Hi Alicia, thanks so much for taking the time to speak with me today.
It’s always a pleasure to speak with you, Shields. Thanks for taking the time to meet with me today to talk about Posh and how we’ve evolved over the last decade since we first started advertising with you.
Alicia, Posh Organics is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Can you share the journey of how the boutique and spa have evolved over the past decade?
It’s truly been such a journey. We started with one treatment room in December 2014 when we purchased the business. We then grew to two treatment rooms fairly quickly. Then, in December of 2023, we finished a remodel of the bathroom and added a third treatment room. Within that time frame, we went from two estheticians to now six estheticians and became the largest retailer of Eminence Organic Skin Care in the state of Oregon and one of the largest in the nation. I think a huge part of that is because our estheticians are so dedicated to Eminence. Danielle has been an Eminence Esthetician for 29 years, and Diana has been with Eminence for 22 years. Now, having been with Eminence myself for over 10 years, I understand the loyalty. Their products truly are top-notch!
You’ve recently expanded your services to include medical aesthetics such as laser treatments, medical-grade peels, and dynamic muscle stimulation. What motivated this expansion, and how do these services align with your holistic approach to skincare?
We are passionate about making real changes in the skin as holistically as possible. Throughout Danielle’s 29 years in aesthetics, she has worked with many different machines and modalities. The first machine she led us to bring in was the Stellar M22 from Lumines. Danille spent a whole year researching, and totally hit the ball out of the park when she chose this to be Posh’s first machine. This laser won best laser device of 2023. Lumenis is the creator of IPL (intense pulsations of light, also known as photo facial) treating: pigmentation, age/sunspots, broken capillaries, and rosacea. It’s been shown to stimulate collagen and elastin fiber production. It also treats acne, can reduce unwanted hair, and it features our state of the art, non-ablative fractional laser, the ResurFX, for skin resurfacing and collagen production for a more radiant, youthful looking skin. The triLift is the second machine we brought in and it was also created by Lumines. The triLift is the foundation corrector for the face; it tightens the muscles in the mid-lower face, addressing sagging jawline and drooping cheeks, bringing them back to their more youthful look. The triLift also treats eyes, neck, abdomen, arms, glutes and legs with tripolar RF (Skin Tightening) and RFMN (Radiofrequency Microneedling) for a more natural approach to a lifted, smooth look. The triLift was awarded 2024 best new dermatology device, and we are honored to be the only provider for triLift in Southern Oregon.
We believe light-based devices are regenerative and take our clients’ Holistic Skin Care journey with Eminence products to the next level for optimum results.
We also offer the Perfect Dermal Peel, which is the only mid-depth medical grade peel that features glutathione, the ultimate antioxidant with powerful anti-aging benefits. This peel provides healthy, ageless skin for all skin types and ethnicities.
You can book a consultation with one of our advanced aestheticians to design the perfect pairing of treatments specific for your skin care needs.
With the addition of new certifications among your practitioners, how has the expertise within your team grown, and what can clients expect from these enhanced qualifications?
Diana joined Danielle as a Certified Advanced Esthetician a year ago. Many readers know Diana, as she has been a prominent esthetician in Ashland for the last 15 years. With this advanced training, Diana is able to not only give corrective facials but she can give her clients more results by performing appropriate advanced services to meet their needs according to their skincare goals. We couldn’t be happier for her as she joins Danielle in performing treatments on our advanced devices.
Expanding from two to three treatment rooms and increasing your team to six aestheticians is a significant growth. How has this development impacted the client experience at Posh Organics?
When we only had two treatment rooms and word had just gotten out about our advanced machines, we were having trouble seeing clients in a timely manner. With three treatment rooms we are able to get clients in much more efficiently for all types of treatments. We are consistently taking on more educational training and hosting more in-house training so there is consistency of care between all our estheticians. Most of our clients feel a connection with the esthetician they see most frequently, but if that esthetician is booked up and they need a treatment sooner, our hope is that the client would have a similar experience with any of our other estheticians.
Posh Organics has always been known for its specialty in organic skincare. With the new services, what would you say is your specialty niche now?
Because we are one of the only Eminence Organic Skin Care accounts to carry the full line of Eminence, I would say that our specialty is still in organic skin care. As your holistic estheticians, we are proud to be able to customize your skin care regimen. We aren’t giving you options based on a select group of products that we like, we are able to offer you exactly what your skin needs because we have it all right here. As holistic estheticians this means that we truly need to know the science of all the organic ingredients used in this line and how they can benefit your skin.
Among the wide range of treatments you offer, which ones are currently the most popular among your clients, and why do you think they resonate so well with them?
For facials, our 60-minute membership facial. We have a membership program that brings clients in monthly for a discounted rate and special offerings. This allows our clients to keep up on their skincare goals and their self-care! Having that time set aside each month for themselves is so important in such a fast-paced world!
Our most popular advanced treatment currently involves the new Dynamic Muscle Stimulation (DMSt) technology. The service is called Lift Mode and it has become a very popular add-on to facials. Who wouldn’t want to have a quick lift created by radio frequency and a contracting of the muscles in the face (DMSt), which creates a lifting effect by toning the face’s glamour muscles to create a face lift-like effect with immediate results.
Your retail space offers a curated selection of organic skincare and haircare products. Can you tell us more about the brands you carry and what makes them stand out?
Our Innersense Organic Hair line has been such a fun addition that we brought to Posh in 2018. We started carrying Innersense when the line that we had previously been carrying had started to change its ingredients. We wanted a cleaner alternative that better represented us. Innersense is something we can proudly offer our clients who are looking to change up their hair care routine. Innersense is a high-performance system that restores health and harmony to the hair. It has been fun to see many salons switch over from highly toxic lines to Innersense in the past few years. It really shows that consumers are doing their research and demanding better for themselves.
Eminence facials are a favorite among your clients, noted for their extensive massage and lymphatic work. What makes these facials unique, and what benefits do they provide?
Eminence facials are next level. They involve very specific Hungarian massage moves to promote circulation, detoxification and sculpting. Eminence is a proud Hungarian company and they feel it is important that their estheticians are all educated in the techniques that the Hungarians have been using in their spas for centuries. When you work the facial muscles, it helps to tighten the skin. Lymphatic work in the face increases blood circulation, reduces puffiness and gives a glowing boost to the skin while getting the entire lymphatic system moving to promote waste movement and detoxification.
It is always my favorite when we get to give a client their first Eminence facial because it seems to always exceed their expectations of what a facial is.
In an era where consumers are becoming more conscious of the ingredients in their beauty products, how does Posh Organics ensure the products and treatments you offer are safe and non-toxic?
People are becoming more aware of the importance of clean products on their skin. The EU has banned 1300 more toxic ingredients than the US and with this knowledge people are realizing the need to vet skincare options. Afterall, the skin is the largest organ and absorbs what you put on it within a minute. The green beauty movement is happening and people are turning to more natural ingredients.
We are ingredient junkie estheticians. We always ask our clients to bring in what they’re using and can help them assess ingredients and their level of safety. What’s so amazing about working with a company like Eminence is knowing their farming practices and certifications and being able to trust the product line. Eminence is a Hungarian company and their farm is near Budapest. A lot of their ingredients are beyond organic and are often Demeter Certified and biodynamically farmed.
Client feedback is crucial for continuous improvement. Could you share some recent testimonials from your clients, and also inform us about the best way to set up an appointment at Posh Organics?
“I had a facial with Abigail today. My face feels rejuvenated and fresh, but much better than that is the hour I spent today on a warm massage table being pampered with smells and textures, a hand and forearm massage, and a foot massage. Abigail has the magic touch. So magical that when the hour came to an end, I realized that it was the first time I did not have a sense of my physical pain (at all) for the first time in a few years.” – Lorie
“Absolutely incredible experience here. I had never been to a spa before because I only use natural products – their products are so natural! High quality oils and plant extracts – I was delighted.
I also received microneedling with Danielle. She made me so comfortable! She is so sweet and genuinely cares. Great results from micro needling – fine lines and scars less visible. The front desk ladies are very kind and helpful too. And their prices cannot be beat wow! I hope it stays this affordable. Thank you guys!” – Catherine
