Wow, has it really been 14 years, Tasa? Looking back on our many interviews, how has GLOW changed?
We have really settled into our new home on 33 Hawthorne Street in Medford. It has been so rewarding to have created such a unique, beautiful and cozy place to call our own. We still remain by appointment only, offering you undivided attention and personalized service. Last year we added our Visia imaging system, which enhances the ability to track and monitor your progress in a scientific manner to truly show you the results you received at GLOW. This service is complimentary and informative to help you understand the current condition of your skin’s health.
Everything about GLOW, from the hand painted murals to the advanced treatments you receive, reveals their passion for encouraging clients to make the most out of their own individual and natural beauty. How do you define beauty?
Beauty is being kind to others and also being kind to yourself. Beauty is being able to give and receive love. Beauty is accepting yourself for who you are and standing tall in that truth. Beauty is being your best self, unapologetically. The power of beauty is really being present within yourself. Enjoying all aspects of beauty within and around you. To me, the essence of beauty is being the best possible version of yourself. Timeless beauty is possible and well-being is everything. The world of beauty is constantly evolving with brand new trends, products and treatments. Good health and self-esteem go hand and hand. Having healthy skin is a step to confidence.
What continues to keep you in this booming industry?
First of all, my love for serving others is always at the forefront. My passion is creating beauty whether it be in a space, a conversation or in the treatment room. Feeling uplifted in my work, in this industry, is a gift I experience regularly. Making new connections while continuing to nurture our decade-plus-long relationships is a blessing. Witnessing your client leave the spa with a huge smile and a glowing face is a reward in itself. What I love about esthetics is being able to help and inspire so many people. Whether it is helping boost someone’s confidence or reaching their goals, timeless beauty is possible.

GLOW’s foundation began with the Heavenly Facial in our first little location on Oak Street, which we still offer to this day. Our approach to facials is a whole body experience. Through the use of our own line of essential oils called Grace and Beauty, we lead you through a beauty ritual developed over the last 14 years. We also offer these cell-nourishing upgrades: microcurrent, LED light therapy and oxygen. Microcurrent stimulates ATP, which is the vital nutrient to healthy, functioning cells. Even after one treatment, microcurrent lifts and tones the muscles of the face. LED light therapy increases the health of your skin by restoring collagen, minimizing fine lines, and reducing redness and pore size. Oxygen deeply hydrates and revitalizes, because it infuses vitamins and antioxidants into the skin during the treatment. These are all non- invasive, extremely healing techniques.
Recently we added laser teeth whitening to our repertoire. This came about after noticing in our before and after’s that our clientele’s skin was rejuvenated however we realized the appearance of stained teeth was affecting their overall glow. The fantastic part about this service is the instant results with no sensitivity. It is a natural, mineral based product, safe for anyone to use. Our clients are really loving it and it has been a fun addition.

Clear + Brilliant® is a gentle fractional laser resurfacing treatment that helps rejuvenate the skin by addressing early signs of aging including fine lines, sun damage, tone, texture, and gives an overall improvement to your skin’s appearance, giving you a radiant, youthful glow. This laser uses two different wavelengths to target multiple concerns and can be used on all skin types. Little to no downtime.
One of our foundational treatments continues to be our Sciton Broadband Light (BBL) laser treatment with remarkable results. This treatment is fast becoming one of the most popular cosmetic procedures for people of all ages and genders. A wide variety of conditions can be treated with BBL therapy, including redness and age spots, rosacea, blood vessels, unwanted hair and uneven skin tone, providing our clientele with clear, radiant skin.
For skin tightening, we use Exilis Ultra to combine ultrasound with radiofrequency, yielding excellent results. This is one of our most popular treatments. Ultra can be used anywhere on the face and body, including around the eyes, jaw line, jowls, mouth, neck, arms, chest, abdomen, thighs, hips, and love handles. It is redefining nonsurgical alternatives. Exilis is not a laser; there is no skin peeling, pigment change, or prolonged healing, and little to no downtime. Optimal results after four to six sessions give immediate and progressive outcomes. We suggest maintenance treatments to provide long-term benefits. Our clients continue to be impressed with their appearance and many have added additional areas of treatment, attesting to their high satisfaction.
To help with body sculpting, we offer Vanquish ME, another type of radiofrequency targeted for the body. While a lot of people have heard about CoolSculpting, our research led us to Vanquish ME, which utilizes heat instead of freezing or cold, and thus is a more pleasant experience for body shaping and fat reduction. Patients love this treatment as there is no downtime and it’s virtually painless. Even better, Vanquish can handle a larger variety of body types and treats multiple areas at once. After four to six treatments, patients often see a difference in pants size. One of the best features that drew us is that it combines skin tightening with fat melting for advanced results. To this we also add Celutone to expedite the break-up of fat cells.
Vivace Radio Frequency Microneedling is our most loved treatment. This is a non-surgical treatment for contouring and tightening the face, neck, hands and body. Vivace stimulates the natural production of collagen with no downtime and instant results. We love that this machine is a combination treatment for both skin tightening and resurfacing. It continues to win each year the new beauty award for best skin resurfacing microneedling treatment!
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, uses the skin’s natural ability to repair after creating micro wounds to stimulate a healing collagen response. Microneedling minimizes pore size, fine lines and wrinkles, and is a promising treatment for lip lines. This procedure is performed in a safe and precise manner with a single-use sterile needle head. To this service, we have added our LED light therapy to promote faster healing time and a more all-inclusive treatment.
Ultra Femme 360, through this relatively short treatment—usually under 30 minutes—we can help rejuvenate your female intimate anatomy. Using radiofrequency, treatment delivers heat to internal and external tissues, which increases blood flow, this comfortably tightens the vagina, and remodels external female genitalia. Ultra Femme 360 improves stress urinary incontinence and sexual function because it can thicken mucosal tissue thereby improving natural lubrication. Research also has found increased sensitivity during intercourse.
Medical-grade peels are for those who want to try another progressive option to achieve results. While there is a process of shedding skin involved, peels can refine texture and tone by producing new healthy skin layers to come to the surface. Peels are offered at many different levels and we individualize the treatment based on your skin. For example, a deep-sea peel uses no acids; instead it utilizes sea-based herbs to stimulate collagen changes at a deeper level. As we age the process of turning over cells slows way down, so performing peels can be like a workout for the skin. A series is often recommended to move you forward in results.

What exciting adventures are ahead?
I am very excited to have the focus to explore new ideas that have been brewing for some time. For instance developing and opening a beauty school. We at GLOW are natural mentors who are impassioned in our field and would find it a great challenge to facilitate a quality beauty school. Sharing our knowledge and experience would be a gift to pass on. We would love to develop quality estheticians for the valley.
GLOW will always continue to evolve and change. This I have learned over the many years of business. I would like to thank Jody Sage for all of her efforts in co-creating magic with me. In all these years I couldn’t have done it all without her by my side. It is an honor to work with such a high-caliber human being. Thank you for all of the laughter and fun, we’ve had a lot of it!
