Lady Jane – Tree House Books

Lady Jane, Modern Faery writes:

We are so grateful to live in this magical city, and TreeHouse Books wants to thank all of our good friends for your loyal and steadfast business for the past 35 years.  We’re having so much fun with the store & The Secret Book Club.  Check our Calendar page on our website for the latest sales, parties and parades! www.ashlandchildrensbooks.com

The Secret Book Club had a successful first beta-test of our storytelling engine software in October. Our book club agents are discovering new portals to the Secret World in our town every week and writing the Guidebooks that will help kids know how to navigate the mysteries. Let us know if you are interested!

If you are curious and want to find out more about Secret Portals, stop by
Tree House Books for a copy of The Map of the Secret World during November.  Four puzzle pieces make up the map that has been appearing through portals all over town in the strange shape of StoryEggs.

A WISH LIST from TreeHouse will help your family and friends know what you LOVE in the store for a birthday or special holiday…It’s fun and easy to fill one out at the store.

TreeHouse Golden Acorns for November:
Leaf Man, by Lois Ehlert – ages 4-8
Beautiful leaf collages illustrate where the leaf man may go…

Giving Thanks: Poems, Prayers, and Praise Songs of Thanksgiving, written by Katherine Patterson, illustrated by Pamela Dalton – ages 8 and up
Meditations on what it means to be truly grateful with exquisite illustrations. Graces, poems, & songs from a wide range of cultures. Wonderful!

What the Heart Knows: Chants, Charms & Blessings, by Joyce Sidman, illustrated by Pamela Zagarenski – ages 13 and up
A beautifully illustrated gift book of poems that reflect hope and wisdom.  I love Pamela’s artwork! (We also carry her line of notecards – Sacred Bee)

Flora and Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures, by Kate DiCamillo, illustrated by KG Campbell – ages 8 and up
Part comic, part novel- about a girl, a boy, some other humans, and most importantly about a squirrel named Ulysses with Superpowers.  Awesome!  My new favorite book (and my husband Dirk’s favorite as well).

The Girl Who Soared Over Fairyland and Cut the Moon in Two ( Fairyland #3), by Catherynne Valente- ages 10 and up
My favorite book series about a modern fairyland full of wisdom in a very unique voice. It’s NOT just for kids-  I’m serious !
