Mt. Meadows – A Piece of Paradise…
A Piece of Paradise…
by Linda Doren
“Paradise” means something different to most people. To some it is a tropical island in the Pacific Ocean where the sand filled beaches touch the pristine blue water. To some it is escaping into nature and strolling along a crystal stream with a best friend. To some it is where they live – the state, the city and even the community. For those who live and love life in Mountain Meadows 55+ community, it is about friends, beautiful homes and landscaped parks and a feeling of community.
A typical day in Mountain Meadows paradise might look like this:
Awakening to the sun warming the patio and the bright pink azaleas are in full bloom. The morning cup of coffee tastes especially nice as you look out at the surrounding hills and parks. A great day for a walk through the park to the clubhouse for Osteo stretch or Zumba dance class to really get the day going. You meet fellow residents who are on their way to the same class. “Lunch after class”, the friend asks? What a fabulous idea! The views from the dining room in the clubhouse are stunning today as you sit with your deli sandwich and cool iced tea and friends. There is lots of conversation in the dining room and residents are talking about the marketing committee or the long range planning committee or the Kitchen Creek gardening committee and what the plans and ideas are for 2015. Sounds exciting and you start to think you might want to get involved. You are planning to meet with other residents later today to hear Music at the Meadows in the clubhouse and then up to dinner to enjoy the special catch of the week!
Mountain Meadows is owned and operated by the residents and this makes it very unique. Residents are involved with planning the day to day fitness, wellness and activities but also the future sustainability of the community. There is an on – site management company that works with the residents to insure the community is maintained, financial reports are done correctly and in a timely fashion and to coordinate various meetings, events and day to day activities.
