Another Trip Around the Sun
Another trip around the sun, another year of growing, tending, and loving our garden spaces has come to an end. As we wait impatiently for spring’s warmth to wake the world around us, it’s the perfect time to start planning for the upcoming season. Researching, designing, deciding what to plant and where, can be just as fun as actually being in your spaces.
Here at Ashland Greenhouses, we’ve been planning, researching new varieties, and deciding what to grow for months. Beginning the first week of January we start transplanting thousands of plant starts each week, and each week gets busier and busier. It’s amazing to watch the process from planting to sale, and even further when our customers share their photos with us of their beautiful spaces. We put a lot of thought into what we grow, and it is very rewarding to see such gorgeous outcomes.
Ashland Greenhouses will be closed for a holiday break beginning December 14th. We will open our doors on January 9th for our regular winter hours. Cheerful and colorful Cyclamen will be available to brighten your home. They should stay inside in a sunny window until April or May. Cyclamen are tricky when it comes to watering, they prefer to dry out between watering and only need fertilizer once a month or less. Our Succulents are doing great and will also be available. Succulents are easy to grow and require minimal watering. They can be moved outdoors as soon as the temperature is above 40 degrees.
What an incredible year it was for our family here at the Ashland Greenhouses. We were blessed with amazing seasonal employees. Our customer base grew, and our classes/events were a huge success! Thank you to our customers and the wonderful vendors that participated in our Poinsettia Festival. Thank you everyone for your continued support and we look forward to seeing all of you again when we reopen on January 9th.
