OCT Proves That 1+1 Equals More Than 2

“Director/Choreographer Jim Giancarlo keeps DOUBLE TROUBLE moving at mile-a-minute pace. The talented young actors (John Keating & Galen Schloming) sing rollicking harmonies to Musical Director Sarah Wussow’s piano and dance like demons. It’s fun…if you’re hungry for lighter fare, this one fits the bill”
Bill Varble, Mail Tribune

The Cabaret kicks off their 29th season with a bang – the very intricate, energetic and highly entertaining DOUBLE TROUBLE: A Musical Tour-de-Farce. It’s about a song-writing team of two brothers who come to Hollywood in 1941 to write a song for the movies. The show was written by real-life brothers Jim & Bob Walton to showcase absolutely all of their considerable talents: singing, dancing, playing piano, crazy characterizations and impersonations.

Each actor plays 5 roles and there are 36 quick-changes! Among the characters are: Merwin M. Garner, blustery head of MMG Studios; Millie Ferber, Garner’s motherly secretary; Seymour Beckley, a nerdy intern with a talent for impersonations; Preston Creest, an effete film director; Bix Minky, an ancient and narcoleptic sound man; Swifty Morris, a slick Hollywood agent; and Rebecca LeFleurdelaMaganis, a glamorous, scheming movie star. The delightful original score by the Walton brothers is reminiscent of the best 1940s movie musicals.

Performances are Thurs-Sun evenings at 8:00pm as well as Sunday matinees at 1:00pm. Starters & small plates, dinner, dessert, beverages & Sunday brunch available.
